Back to school product collage

Cue the pep rallies. (Back to) school is in session and we’re here to help. We’ve heard from our guests that a successful school year starts with checking everything they need off the kiddos’ school supply list, and that just so happens to be Target’s best subject.

“Preparing for a new school year is an exciting time, but it also can be daunting. Target is here to help take the pressure off of parents,” said Mark Tritton, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer, Target. “From an easy, convenient shopping experience—both in our stores and online—to the products they want and need, including exclusive brands like our popular kids’ clothing line Cat & Jack, Target is the destination for parents who want to save time and money this season, while sending their kids back to school in style.”

So what’s making up Target’s lesson plan this year? Here’s the CliffsNotes:

First Period: Kid-Approved Product 101
Fun fact: Back to school is one of the busiest shopping seasons of the year at Target, second only to holiday. So, when it comes to finding supplies that your kids consider an A+, trust us, we’ve got it all, from brands guests know and love—like Crayola, Five Star, Swiss Gear and Thermos—to exclusives you can find only at Target.

Available only at Target, Cat & Jack will kick off its second back-to-school season since launching in 2016, and boasts the apparel, accessories, backpacks and lunch kits that pep up parents and kids alike. And for all of the parents wanting to ensure you’re living up to your kids’ cool-factor expectations, we’ve got you covered with this year’s latest trends, from iridescent and metallic prints to food-inspired supplies (Trust us, they are a must-have) like Yoobi’s donut erasers and ice cream cone pens. Take a peek at some of our favorites.

Second Period: Shop(ping) Class
Whether you’re shopping in-store or online, this year’s shopping experience has gotten an A-worthy upgrade. Notice how your school’s supply list requires specific colored notebooks and folders? Us too. So we’re saving you time and making it easy to find what you’re looking for with new color-coded in-store displays. And once you’ve filled up your cart—whether it’s in-store or online—Target’s flexible fulfillment options, like order pickup, make it simple and easy for guests to shop how and when they want. We’ve also enhanced our School List Assist service, making it easier than ever before for parents to find their kid’s school supply list on Target.com and instantly purchase from Target.com.

And no matter when parents start their back-to-school shopping, they’ll find new season-long low prices and deals on supplies, apparel and more. We’re offering our lowest prices of the year on some of the most popular items all season long.

Third Period: RECESS
Last year, we jumped into back to school with a marketing campaign made for kids, by kids. This year, we’re turning our attention to parents with “Ready.Set.Prep!” which includes a mix of bold commercial spots in English and Spanish featuring peppy tracks and cheers by singer-songwriter Betty Who.
