We know spring has only just begun, but at Target, we’re already thinking about what’s next. That’s right: swimsuit season! We’re talking monokinis, little black bikinis, boho styles and suits for every beach body under the sun. Because finding your favorite style suit is important, and we’re all about offering flattering fit and cut options to help guests feel confident in their swimsuits. After all, you look your best when you feel your best!
This spring we’ve teamed up with some of our faves for our #TargetSwim campaign. These four amazing women love showing off their authentic selves and know a thing or two about rocking a swimsuit with confidence. Meet content creator and dancer Megan Batoon, pro skateboarder Lizzie Armanto, model and body activist Denise Bidot and TV host and model Kamie Crawford.
The premise of the campaign? Living confidently, on one’s own terms. We wanted to represent swim in a way that’s true-to-life, and traditional retouching just didn’t jibe with that idea. We decided to show women’s bodies as they are, without reshaping their curves or removing stretchmarks, with the hope of inspiring women to be confident and embrace the beauty of their own bodies.
“Target shows women of all shapes, sizes and colors looking beautiful and confident in themselves and their swimsuits and that resonates with women everywhere,” Kamie said. “Confidence is contagious!”
In true #TargetSwim spirit, these ladies have already started showing off their favorite suits—check it out, below!
Denise Bidot
“I feel most confident in a two-piece suit with a high waist bottom and a top that fits just right,” Denise said. “When you're a curvy girl it can be hard to find a suit that fits perfectly in all the right places, but Target definitely has accomplished that with their swimwear. Once you find that perfect suit that fits just right it will give you that extra boost of confidence that will make your pool or beach day even better.”
Lizzie Armanto
“My favorite type of swimsuits are halter tops with bikini bottoms, and one pieces. Even when I'm going to the beach to hang out, I end up being pretty active and it feels better to have a suit on that I know is going to be secure. I love that Target’s swimwear collection has a variety of styles. It’s fun to be able to express how you feel with a swimsuit that fits your body,” Lizzie said.
Kamie Crawford
“There are so many different styles at Target! It's hard not to find [a swimsuit] that you'll fall in love with,” Kamie said. “I love bikinis with high waist bottoms because I love where it hits on my waist and makes it look smaller, while still accentuating my hips. I feel the most confident in my bikini when the fit is perfect, no matter what the style!”
Megan Batoon
“You're bearing the most amount of skin in public when you're in a swimsuit, so it's important that it helps you feel confident so you can be completely yourself and enjoy every part of summer without the burden of insecurities,” said Megan. “I love a good one-piece or a high waist bikini. I feel like they are timeless, classy and I can eat a full watermelon without the fear of looking bloated. I call that a win-win-win.”
