These will be a shoe-in for this year’s holiday wish list: Coming up on the one-year anniversary of its partnership with Target, Who What Wear is launching a Who What Wear shoe collection—and the holiday edition is out now!

Featuring 25 different styles ranging from elegant booties to classic closed-toe pumps in on-trend materials like velvet and microsuede, the Who What Wear limited collection is the finishing touch on any ensemble (you’ll definitely want to check out their latest line of apparel and accessories) for every holiday event. But don’t delay, this is a limited edition for holiday, so get ‘em while you can! Then stay tuned for more styles in 2017 that are sure to knock your socks off.

To celebrate the launch, we chatted with Who What Wear co-founders Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power about the shoe collection and got their expert recommendations about which shoes to wear—and when!

After almost a year of creating a line of apparel and accessories for Target, what inspired the foray into shoes?
HK: Shoes really complete an outfit, so creating a footwear line was the natural next step for us! We also knew that footwear was a really important for us—shoes are a top performing category on WhoWhatWear.com—and our audience was very vocal about wanting us to expand into this area, so we figured it was time. 

How does it feel to be launching a shoe line right in the middle of the holiday season?
KP: The holidays are a really exciting time to launch a shoe line, because there are so many amazing fabrics, textures and styles that are ideal at this point in the year. For example, we love velvet for the holidays, and designed a number of key clothing items in this fabric, but we also realized that it would be perfect for ankle boots and heels, so we created a few different styles.
HK: It’s also a very fun time of year because you have so many different needs. Depending on where you live, you might be all about a heeled party-ready sandal or need the season’s best boot style. 

What are some of the guest insights you’ve learned that impacted the creation of the shoe line?
KP: We’ve learned that the Target guest and Who What Wear fan loves more fashion-forward, directional pieces with a strong point of view, so we definitely kept that in mind when creating the shoe line.

Tell us more about the materials you used for the line.
HK: In addition to velvet—which looks and feels incredible—we also did a number of different microsuedes. The microsuede looks really luxurious, but also wears well, which makes it a win in our books.

Which shoe style is your favorite and why?
KP: There are so many we love, it’s hard to pick! The Ally Pump is incredibly versatile and will work with anything in your wardrobe, so that’s definitely a great option.
HK: We also love the velvet Cora Ankle Boots; they look so cool and are available at such a great price. 

Which Who What Wear shoe styles work best for…

• A company holiday party? The Hadley Microsuede Heel with Pearl Buttons or the Ally Pumps, because both are polished and classic.
• Holiday brunch? The Cora Velvet Ankle Boots or the Kat Slingback Flats! The ankle boot are just fun, and the fact that they’re in velvet makes them ideal for the holidays. The flats are a stylish, unfussy option—especially in red!—if a heel seems like too much work. 
• Family get-together? The Angelique Block Heels with Ankle Straps are a great option because the low, block heel is dressy without trying too hard.
• Holiday card photos? The Ally Pumps are really timeless and elongating, if you are taking a more formal photo, or Cora Ankle Boots for a more casual look.
• New Year’s Eve? The Michaela Velvet Block Heels with Ankle Ties is definitely the best choice. The block heel will let you dance all night long, while the velvet material will dress up any New Year’s Eve outfit.
