Just across the street from the local train station sits Target’s Sunnyvale, Calif., office — conveniently (and strategically) situated in the heart of Silicon Valley.

Originally opened in 2014, the Sunnyvale office is now home to more than 100 team members who work on everything from making shopping Target more personalized to enhancing Target’s supply chain and testing and measuring initiatives in our stores and online.

Tim Sears, VP Data Science and Engineering, describes two primary roles for the office: “One is to access the engineering talent pool that’s very broad and deep in Silicon Valley, the other is to help bring more of that engineering culture that Silicon Valley offers into Target.”

The Sunnyvale office is a breeding ground for big ideas and innovation. And of course, to counterbalance the “work hard” ethos, team members are no stranger to “play” — with ping pong competitions and a bottomless supply of brain food (from Target, of course!).
