In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, family comes first for Target partner, Univison host and mom of three daughters, Barbara Bermudo. “We all have busy schedules, but we work together and always make family time a priority,” she tells us. So, what better way to sneak in quality time—and score cool mom points with her princess-loving girls—than putting together a sweet family movie night featuring Disney’s Elena of Avalor? And what better place to find everything princess than Target? From her cart full of adorable Elena gear to tasty treats and DIY tips, Barbara gives us all the details of her princess party:
What inspired your princess movie night?
I am always looking for fun ways for the family to spend quality time together and my daughters go crazy for Disney princesses. So this past Sunday night’s TV premiere of Elena of Avalor—Disney’s first Latina princess movie—was the perfect occasion! Having a Latina princess is a very exciting thing for all of our Latin families. It’s great that our little girls can see themselves represented with this character. Elena is a leader and great role model encouraging the fantasy in the hearts and minds of all the little princesses out there. This inspired my husband Mario and I to host a fun watch party at home for our girls. These are the memories we will all cherish for the rest of our lives.
How did you pull it all off?
The first thing on my list was to stock up on all things Elena of Avalor at Target. I’m a big fan of décor and Target has many Disney Elena of Avalor-themed products. I picked up everything from Girls’ Elena of Avalor T-shirts to singing dolls and decor items like the Elena of Avalor Pillow. I was feeling like a little girl myself as I was shopping! I got a ton of stuff including snack foods because what’s a party without snacks? We had popcorn, chips, salsa, fruit twists and some delicious brownie peppermint snack bites.

Elena has her scepter of light—what’s your super power?
What’s my super power? I have them all because I’m a mother of three!
Any tips for those hosting their own family movie nights?
Be creative and make it a moment to remember! Whether it’s toys for Mia and Camila or Sofia’s favorite snacks, I try to make sure there is something for everyone. You can’t go wrong with fun Pillowfort pillows and throws for a movie night. What’s most important are the smiles and quality time spent with family.

What’s next on the Moreno-Bermudo family watch list?
Like I said, my girls love Disney princesses so they have already been talking about the new Moana movie for a while. We will definitely go see it this month. I love princess time with my princesses!
