There’s something new debuting in the Big Apple—Target’s first Manhattan flexible format store is now open in NYC’s Tribeca neighborhood! To celebrate the opening, the community, Target team members from neighboring stores, Bullseye and more were all front and center for the ceremonial ribbon cutting.
“The Target team has been working for months to get this store ready for guests in Tribeca, and we can’t wait to see guests’ reactions to the unique store design, the curated assortment and one-of-a-kind features only available at this store," said Anne Stanchfield, vice president, Flexible Formats and Localization, Target.
Our New York City guests have been waiting patiently for a centrally located Target store equipped with all of the things they love most about Target, ranging from extensive apparel and beauty offerings to home goods and grocery items. And we’re making good on all of that and more. Target’s order pickup service—where guests buy online and pick up the items at their local store—is also available so guests can bring our broader assortment home with them. To make guests shopping experience quick and convenient, the Tribeca Target store is testing a new cash register queuing system and expanded self-checkout.
At Target, we take pride in offering a locally relevant experience to our guests. New York-based artist Timothy Goodman created a custom mural inspired by life in the Big Apple that we’re proudly displaying in our new Tribeca store.
And keeping with our guests’ taste for a fast, nutritious and delicious food option, we've opened a Chobani Café in-store. The Chobani Tribeca Café has a carefully curated menu, featuring Greek yogurt creations, sandwiches, salads, breakfast bowls and drinks—all made from hand-selected, artisanal ingredients.
“The new Chobani Tribeca Café is another step to really show people our belief of great food and great design—all in one place. We like to think of our cafés as a test kitchen of innovation of what’s to come from Chobani, and Target is a great partner to make that happen right here in Tribeca," said Peter McGuinness, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer, Chobani.
Before the store’s opening, we hosted a variety of exciting pop-up activities to get guests excited about the new location. Throughout the city, we offered free yoga classes, complimentary manicures and more, putting a Target twist on product found at the Tribeca store. Actress and model Olivia Munn even stopped by our “Nail it Up” pop-up to get a defy & INSPIRE mani in Tribal Council (and yes, it’s available for purchase in our Tribeca store!).
“The fact that there’s going to be a Target store here, within walking distance for so many people and where people want to go all the time, is so exciting,” said Olivia. “I love shopping at Target, because you can find everything that you want in one spot. It’s my happy place.”
