The holidays are on the horizon—and today, Target unveiled its plans to help families make the most of the season. (Check out our full press release for all the details.)
While the holidays bring lots of fun and excitement, all the planning, list-making, shopping for the perfect gifts, wrapping and entertaining can feel like staging a production—and we know guests want to get everything just right. So we’ll help them get ready for showtime by making it easier than ever to find all the right gifts and decor for a festive, memorable holiday season. We’re even putting on a production of our own for guests to enjoy! Take a look at some of the highlights:
Holiday Spectacular: The Show Must Go On!
In past years, guests loved following the ongoing adventures of a variety of characters—including our beloved mascot, Bullseye—in Target’s holiday marketing campaigns, whether it was a trip to Wonderland with Alice, or a magical journey to light up a tree.
This year, we’re turning up the dial on our storytelling by raising the curtain on a Broadway-style production. Our top toys of the season team up with celebrity friends—Oscar, Golden Globe and 10-time Grammy winning artist John Legend, and Legend’s wife, television personality and No. 1 New York Times best-selling author Chrissy Teigen—to put on "The Toycracker," our take on the classic story of "The Nutcracker."
Guests will have the opportunity to see “The Toycracker” come to life on Dec. 11, when it will air as an eight-minute musical story in two parts during the network broadcast premiere of Disney’s "Frozen" on ABC. How will the story end? No spoilers here, but check out this sneak peek:
Watch for the scene-stealing stars of “The Toycracker,” including Legend and Teigen, in our broadcast spots throughout the season, and giving guests a peek behind the curtain as the spectacular production takes shape.
Welcome to Wondershop
Ready to deck out your halls? Guests love shopping our revamped Bullseye’s Playground grab-and-go display all year long, so this holiday, we’re taking the same approach to our trim assortment. Beginning the week of Nov. 1, guests will discover Wondershop—a shop-within-a-shop in our stores and online—for everything they need to trim that tree.
The festive assortment will include 2,000 new products, as well as classic guest favorites. (Our personal fave: A new collectible ornament of Bullseye!) And remember those TV spots? Keep your eyes peeled for Wondershop in, let’s say, a supporting role.
Wonderlist: Meet Your (Gift) Match
Wondering what to get for the VIPs on your shopping list? Get an assist from Target’s Wonderlist—our handy online holiday gift guide that puts bright ideas at your fingertips. Not sure what to get your picky sister? Match her with one of the four personality types featured in the Wonderlist, then search by a variety of interests to unearth great gift ideas from a curated assortment of 450 products. Is she a go-getter who loves to entertain? Or a tastemaker who’s always up on the hottest trends? There’s a gift for that.
And that’s just the beginning.
