Book Lovers, Check Out These Epic Reads For Fall

There’s something about cooler weather, sweaters and pumpkin spice that makes you want to curl up with a great book. Fans of the young adult genre, take note…Target and Epic Reads have teamed up to make sure your must-read list is, well, epic! And we’re making it easier than ever to find just the right book…

Last October, Target and Epic Reads—an online community of millions of young adult book lovers—launched Epic Reads Recommends. The site curates the best new books, gives readers a chance to share their own recommendations and connects them to to easily purchase their pick. A year later, we’re still going strong. Together, Target and the Epic Reads community have helped several “Recommends” titles land on the New York Times bestseller list, including Dumplin’ and United as One. Now, to make it even easier to find a great pick while you’re in Target stores, we’re rolling out special signs to highlight Epic Reads picks:

But why go big with printed books in this digital world? Across the industry, most readers are still buying traditional print books (they make up 80 percent of all sales), while e-books are at a four-year low. At Target, book sales are strong and our guests, especially millennials, tell us they still love to own, display and share great books. But we have to keep finding fresh, authentic ways to inspire readers in our stores and on So when we first discovered Epic Reads, we loved how they inspire readers with digital and social media. And we knew it’d be a fun, authentic way to introduce our guests to new titles, up-and-coming authors and tons of extra content. This rest is history.

So what’s on the must-read list for this fall? Here’s Epic Reads Recommends’ current pick:
