Go Seamlessly From Summer to Fall With Zanna Roberts Rassi’s Style Tips and Outfit Picks

It might still be hot and humid outside, but make no mistake: Cooler temps are coming!

To help us seamlessly (and stylishly) transition from our summer to fall wardrobes, we called on Target Stylist Zanna Roberts Rassi, to put together a slew of chic outfits that perfectly illustrate how to combine pieces from both seasons. Better yet, she shared a few of her expert tips to help suit up for the colder months ahead with style and ease. Take a look:

Striped turtleneck, red sleeveless dress, horn necklace, ankle boots and black quilted bag

Tip 1: “One of the easiest ways to take summer pieces into fall is with layering. Instead of layering over pieces with jackets and cardigans, layer underneath with fall’s must-have: The turtleneck! Summer dresses easily transition into fall by adding a turtleneck underneath.”
Tip 2: “Ditch sandals for an ankle boot and accessorize with heavier gold pendant necklaces and darker handbags.”

White blouse, red a-line skirt, black over the knee boots, black wide-brim hat and rose gold watch

Tip 1: “You don’t have to put away your favorite summer white shirt just yet, tuck it into the perfect A-line skirt.”
Tip 2: “While this still might feel a bit bare, slip on an over-the-knee boot to cover your legs and give the illusion of tights, adding a wide-brim hat for the finishing touch.”

Palazzo pants, blue turtleneck, skinny scarf, long white coat and white sneakers

Tip 1: “I love juxtaposing a lightweight, almost beachy pant with cozy pieces like this cardigan coat. Keep the PJ feel of the pant and pair with sneakers for an easy weekend look.
Tip 2: “skinny neck scarf is a must-have accessory for Fall/Winter 2016. The scarf ties in with the pattern of the pants.

Striped top, skinny jeans, sleeveless grey vest, brown ankle boots and knit hat

Tip 1: “Summer outerwear can transition into fall if you pair it with your favorite jeanslong-sleeve tee and boots.”
Tip 2: “A beanie always adds a layer of cozy.”

Striped short sleeve turtleneck, grey a-line skirt, grey bomber jacket, combat boots and black quilted backpack

Tip 1: “Skirts are one of the easiest pieces to transition from summer into fall. Wear with a turtleneck and bomber jacket to complete the look.”
Tip 2: “Add in a heavier combat boot and chunky sock—no more sandals!”

Wide-leg jeans, denim bomber jacket, blue top, skinny scarf and white sneakers

Tip 1: “Denim never goes out of season—and you don’t have to go immediately from cutoffs to tight skinny jeans. Instead, opt for culottes—the new ‘capri’ of denim.”
Tip 2: “Pair the culottes with your summer chambray tank top and a denim jacket for triple denim! With this new take on the Canadian tuxedo, keep the accessories minimal.”

Printed pants, burgundy sleeveless turtleneck, gold bracelet, chunky brown heels and black clutch

Tip 1: “A fun way to take summer bottoms into fall is to style them with knits, which add weight and texture while keeping arms bare.”
Tip 2: “A chunky-heeled sandal is great to wear for the month of September. Come October, keep the look fresh and weather-appropriate with a sock and heel.”

Black top, denim a-line skirt, skinny scarf, black hat, brown ankle boots and black bag

Tip 1: “Lightweight summer tops that used to be paired with your favorite cutoffs will pair well with skirts for fall.”
Tip 2: “Adding layers, like a hat and scarf, give the illusion of a fall weather outfit—even though you have bare legs!”
