Let’s Get Glam! Summer Wedding Style Tips from Zanna Roberts Rassi

Hear that sound? It’s wedding bells, and you know what that means...time to start planning outfits for this summer’s many celebrations! To help pull your looks together, we tapped Target Stylist Zanna Roberts Rassi to suggest picture-perfect styles for every occasion.

Backyard Bash

Zanna loves this sleeved midi-dress, perfect for partying outside after the sun goes down. As far as shoes go, it’s wedges all the way: “I’ve lost count of the amount of weddings I’ve been to where I’ve lost a heel in the grass,” said Zanna. “I’m going to attempt to practice what I preach and wear a WEDGE next time!”

Destination Soiree

“There is definitely a little more excitement with a destination wedding,” said Zanna. “Days of fun where everyone dresses up with purpose! I always let the setting inspire me. Going to Greece? Go for an ethereal vibe, off-the-shoulder look. Going to Napa Valley? Try a delicate floral.” With a more pronounced dress, it’s best to keep the shoes sleek and minimal.

Beach Shindig

Heading to a beach wedding? “Opt for a flowy maxi,” said Zanna. “The wind will only complement the dress, which is one less thing you’ll have to worry about. I’m very much into the slip trend look this season that hit the runways.” Step things up by sticking to flat, strappy sandals instead of wedges—sand is hard enough to walk on without an added heel!

Black Tie Affair

“Despite popular belief, ‘Black Tie’ does not mean a long, black, uncomfortable dress,” said Zanna. “To me it means go for it, formally—this dress will do the trick! A surefire way to kill the excitement of the festivities is by wearing an uncomfortable heel. Try a block heel—they are sturdier than a stiletto and will keep up with you on the dance floor (even after a glass of wine or two!).”
