Community is a core belief at Target, and our team members are known throughout the world for using their diverse talents to enrich their communities. Service and volunteerism play an important role in helping to solve big problems, both in our local communities and across the globe. Over the years, we’ve challenged ourselves with goals to encourage our volunteer efforts to grow … and every year our team members deliver big on that commitment.
In 2015, they donated a record-breaking 1.1 million hours of volunteer service in their communities. It’s a lot more than just a big number—each of those hours represents a team member’s passionate work toward a project or organization close to their heart. From building homes for the homeless and renovating schools, to helping out at local shelters and food shelves, to packing care kits for people in need, they’re imagining new ways to share their special talents, making their neighborhoods and communities stronger and healthier.
We celebrate our volunteers all year long. As we kick off National Volunteer Week, we’re recognizing those who lead the way, inspiring and encouraging others to get involved, too. Want to see some of the impact our team member volunteers are making? Check it out:
