For our guests across the country, a SuperTarget run usually means lots to look forward to. First stop for many of our youngest guests? The bakery, to score a free cookie to munch on while they shop. Haven’t heard about Target’s free cookie program? We’ve offered it in our stores with bakeries for decades, and it’s always been a hit with families. These days, we hand out around 25-50,000 cookies a week to kids (12 and under) at our SuperTarget stores.

Guests still heart the idea, but recently, many parents have told us they’d love the option of a healthy shopping snack for the kiddos. So starting today, we’re adding fresh fruit to the mix! Kids can now choose a free piece of fruit or a cookie when they visit any SuperTarget bakery counter. It’s just another way Target’s supporting guests with a wider range of options.

Did your kids grab a free snack at SuperTarget today? Share your snaps of the treats they chose on Twitter or Instagram with hashtag #TargetRun.
