A montage of 5 fashion personalities posing outside the shows during New York Fashion Week

Fashion Week Scoop, Exclusively for Target from The Daily Front Row: Day Five

This week, Target is teaming up with The Daily Front Row (The Daily)—the premier source of Fashion Week intel. Below, The Daily put together a trend report covering day one of New York Fashion Week, sharing street style highlights and ways to get the look for less at Target.

The Scene at the Shows: Day Five

There's no taking a day off on President's Day for the fashion industry: Monday was an exceptionally strong day for shows, with The Row kicking off the morning with a streamlined assortment of minimalist basics. Next up: Carolina Herrera, who drew the fashion flock to the Frick Collection on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Herrera, a longtime supporter of the museum, showed gowns that would look right at home on the gallery's walls, including full chiffon skirts, painterly florals and sumptuous peach silks. In a contrarian spirit, Tommy Hilfiger proposed nauticals for fall, turning the Park Avenue Armory into a chic ship awash in stripes and sequins. Monday night brought a trifecta of unmissable moments, thanks to Thom Browne's sense of theatricality, former-Target design partner Zac Posen's buzzy front row and Rag & Bone's (which, along with Herrera and Browne, were part of Target’s 2012 holiday collaboration with Neiman Marcus) fresh take on city-friendly basics.

The Scene on the Streets: Day Five

With the thirty-degree weather being a touch more cooperative, some showgoers were able to trade in their tundra fare for the gold outerwear and statement accessories that street style stars are known for. Statement shades, wraparound scarves, and black boots of all varieties were on full display.
