Todd Snyder and Blogger at Guthrie Theater in MN
It’s been a whirlwind of cross-country travel this year for menswear designer Todd Snyder, ever since we announced his Local Pride by Todd Snyder line sold exclusively at Target.

We’ve been lucky enough to tag along on a few of his inspiration-seeking adventures: First to Boston, where we took wicked selfies on the waterfront, then to Chicago, where we ate deep dish pizza (…and Superdawgs…and malts…and croissants), and most recently to Target’s  hometown—Minneapolis!

To get the full flavor of the Twin Cities, we tapped local The American Edit blogger Rita Mehta to show us her favorite haunts.

We met Rita and Todd at Spyhouse Coffee Roasters’ Northeast location. For 15 years, Spyhouse has been roasting, brewing and serving its own beans, and the Northeast café is their newest location—housed in an old Land O Nod Mattress factory! A few cappuccinos, double espressos, croissants and pumpkin muffins later, we set out on our Twin Cities adventure.
The next stop on our tour was beer-lovers’ 612 Brew—just a short walk from Spyhouse. We saddled up to the bar with Rob, 612’s co-founder and brewer, to learn more about the suds on tap. Rob and three other co-owners opened the brewery two and a half years ago, when microbrews were still new to Minneapolis. They’ve become such a local favorite that they’ve even helped orchestrate a marriage proposal on their brew deck! (She said yes!)
Minneapolis’ Guthrie Theater opened its doors in 1963 with a production of Hamlet and has since been a cultural beacon of the Twin Cities. A little rain didn’t stop us from snapping some photos on the Endless Bridge observation deck and going up to the ninth floor to check out the famed “yellow room” to look out over the Mississippi River.
You can’t visit Minnesota without having a Juicy Lucy burger—a hamburger stuffed with piping hot cheese! We went to St. Paul and sat at Casper & Runyon’s The Nook’s basement bar, listened to the steady soundtrack of classic rock and devoured “stuffed cheeseburgers served medium only” and fried cheese curds. Of course, we couldn’t pass up the chance to play the lanes at The Nook’s in-house bowling alley, while we waited. Todd showed everyone up, bowling strike after strike!
For our final stop, we paid homage to the Twin Cities’ ever-evolving music scene and swung by the legendary First Avenue venue to take some photos next to the names of hometown artists!

Stop by your local Twin Cities-area Target and pick up Todd’s Minnesota themed designs.
