Welcome to Target, Charlie Brown! Behind-the-Scenes of the Peanuts-Inspired Collection

This November, the Peanuts gang will make a splash on the big screen in the beloved comic strip’s much-anticipated feature film. If you can’t wait until then to see what your favorite characters have been up to, look no further than Target! To celebrate the upcoming Peanuts movie and the comic strip's 65^th anniversary – Good grief! Time flies when you’re trying to kick that football! – the retailer is introducing a collection worthy of some serious family fun. We’re talking more than 100 exclusive products starring Charlie Brown, Lucy and, of course, Snoopy!

Target’s uber-talented design team planned out every last detail of this super-authentic summer collection (think racket sets, play tents, picnic blankets and tableware). The team packed up their sketchbooks and took a trip from Target HQ in Minneapolis out to Santa Rosa, Calif., where they spent some quality time perusing the Peanuts archives, getting their creative juices flowing at the Charles M. Schulz Museum (named after the strip's legendary creator, who also hailed from Minneapolis!). From there, they met up with current Peanuts creatives, rolled up their sleeves and played with scale of the archived designs to create pieces that are fun, fresh and give a big nod the comic’s roots.
