Surf’s up! And the beach has never looked so chic. That’s because haute swimwear designer Tori Praver will soon debut a new line available exclusively at Target.com. Called Tori Praver Seafoam, the 30-piece collection of mix-and-match bikini separates and swimsuits features soft, sun-warmed colors, exotic prints and Tori’s signature ruching technique (so, so flattering!).
Tori launched her eponymous label in 2009, and became an instant favorite with the fashion press and discerning resortwear retailers. The Seafoam collection for Target will embrace everything the designer is known for: durable fabrics, alluring, vintage pin-up girl details and refined, feminine silhouettes. We’ll take one of everything, please!
Eager to learn more about the line, A Bullseye View sat down with the Hawaiian bathing beauty to get the inside scoop on all things Seafoam.
What motivated you to start designing swimwear?
Growing up in Maui, my childhood was spent surfing and swimming in the most beautiful waters of the Pacific. I always had a love for the ocean and had trouble finding a suit that was durable enough for the surf, yet stylish enough for the sand. Traveling as a model in my teen years, I gained a global perspective of the fashion industry and that ultimately led me to start the line I’d always envisioned.
What’s the inspiration behind Tori Praver Seafoam?
I’ve been lucky enough to travel all over the world for photo shoots. I designed the Seafoam collection with inspiration from my adventures and experiences in Hawaii, Morocco and Bali. You can see the design inspiration through the soft, delicate colors as well as the ethnic prints and motifs.
How did you land upon the name Seafoam?
Since a great deal of the collection is inspired by the ocean, I wanted a name that would capture its beauty—Seafoam memorializes my time spent soaking in the sun on the exquisite beaches of Maui and also speaks to the collection’s delicate feel.
Who is the Seafoam collection intended for?
I always keep the Tori Praver Swimwear girl in mind when I design. She’s a girl who is youthful, vibrant and not afraid of making a statement at the beach.
Why did a partnership with Target seem like a good fit for your brand?
It seemed like such a natural fit for us to collaborate with the leader in fun, affordable fashion. I’m always excited to see Target launching new designer partnerships and am amazed by how well the products turn out each and every time.
