Get Organized With Nate Berkus’ Stylish New Line of Stationery and Office Essentials

The only thing better than organizing your office cubicle with some great-looking Nate Berkus for Target “desk-cessories” is having the designer on hand to work his magic in person.

That’s precisely what happened at Allure magazine, which recently moved its offices to the new Condé Nast building in downtown Manhattan. A couple of lucky editors got a sneak peek the new Nate Berkus for Target collection, which includes a number of chic office and desk accessories, and stylish storage solutions for keeping paper and clutter under control. But this was no normal editorial appointment.

Instead of telling Marni Golden, Entertainment Director (and Nate’s younger sis!) and Kristin Perrotta, Executive Editor, how great the new products are, Nate was right there to show them them the possibilities. And their cubicles have never looked so neat (or chic)!

“I believe that all the environments we live and work in should be beautiful,” said Nate. “Because we spend so much time in our workspaces, I wanted to create a collection that could help you work better...something functional, yes, but also beautiful and well-designed.”

What prompted you to create a collection of desk accessories and stationery?
First of all, I'm all about organization. The one place that needs to be beyond organized is your workspace, specifically your desk, which is how I got inspired to create the desk accessories. Even in a corporate environment, you want things on your desk that are thoughtful. And stationery is an amazing category that could be so much more interesting so I used this collection to explore that a bit.

Is there a formula for minimizing clutter on your desk and making your workspace feel more elevated?
Definitely! Use a variety of containers: Lidded baskets are amazing because they can store things while concealing them—like a plastic bin but so much more elegant. Bowls are great for corralling small essentials like paper clips and sticky notes. Fill a vintage juice glass with your pens. Adding a table lamp that’s meant for the home will change the entire mood of your desk. Framed black-and-white photos have the same effect and make even the smallest office cubicle feel chic.

Which pieces in this collection make for the best gifts?
I love the Faceted Gold-Detail Bowl. It’s a fantastic gift because it works in any space—in an office setting it can pull double duty as a catchall and a decorative piece.
