Yoplait x Christopher Straub x Target

Don’t be surprised if you see a stampede of fashionistas storming Target’s grocery aisle between now and the end of February. Why? Yoplait has teamed up with Christopher Straub, a talented Project Runway Season Six alumna, to design a limited-edition series of yogurt cups. Called the Yoplait Signature Collection, all six flavors will be sold exclusively at Target stores.

“I grew up in Minnesota, where Target has its headquarters, and made many, many bike rides to the York Avenue Target store in Edina throughout my childhood,” said Christopher. “If you were to tell 15-year-old-me that I’d have custom packaging in Target that I designed, I would have never believed you. It’s an honor and an absolute pleasure to work with Yoplait on a product you’ll only find at Target.”

Perfectly timed to coincide with New York Fashion Week, the Yoplait Signature Collection turns the foil-lid topped darlings of the dairy section into covetable objects of beauty defined by vibrant hues and whimsical patterns.

“I wanted to re-imagine the Yoplait packaging through my own eyes and with my design aesthetic.  I worked to take texture, tone-on-tone color, and repeating shapes to make a bold statement in Target’s grocery aisle,” Christopher said.

In addition to designing the limited-edition cups, Christopher Straub also created two original gowns, using Yoplait cups and lids, that will be unveiled at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City on Feb 13.

Can a 6 oz. cup of yogurt really transform an ordinary Target run into a high-fashion, see-and-be-seen event? Believe it: Peep the entire Yoplait Signature Collection, and the Christopher Straub dresses that brought them to life, in the gallery below. Scoop them up before they disappear—you only have till the end of February!
