There’s good news and there’s awesome news, the kind that’s so exciting you’re bursting to tell everyone you know. This is how expecting parents feel when they learn the gender of their baby—and many go all out when they make the official announcement.
Target partner Barbara Bermudo, host of Univision’s evening news show, Primer Impacto, has been down the path twice before. So with baby number three arriving this summer, she did the big reveal live on the air. Later, she joined husband and news anchor Mario Andrés Moreno to share the news on Univision 23. “We wanted our viewers to share our joy,” said Barbara.
If you missed it, es niña (it’s a girl)!
But the viewers weren’t the only ones in the loop. A month earlier, Barbara and Mario had gathered the family around a “baby balloon box” and asked daughters Mia and Camila to guess the color of the balloons inside.
“We wanted to make sure our daughters were part of our big reveal,” said Barbara. “We hired a photographer to document the moment, especially the girls’ excitement and anticipation, and we plan to decorate the nursery with some of the pictures.”
Barbara and Mario had lots of fun with their reveal – both on TV and at home with the girls. You can too by trying one of the following tips:
Send flowers: Brighten your loved-one’s day with a big bouquet of pink tulips or blue hydrangeas.
Bark about it: Invite friends and family over and let your pet say it all by sporting a pink or blue ribbon.
Go pro: Hire a professional photographer (maybe the one who shot your wedding?), prop yourself accordingly and share the result. On a budget? Entrust this task to a talented friend.
Bake away: Frost cupcakes in pink or blue, serve them to your nearest and dearest and let them savor the sweet surprise.
Once you know the gender, it’s time to start registering for baby gifts. Start shopping now!
