360 Degrees of Holiday: A Look at Target’s Holiday Marketing Campaign

Tis the season to be jolly, and you know what that means: Target has launched a knockout holiday marketing campaign, complete with enchanting new commercials, a kid-friendly holiday Wish List app, an in-store Santa-land transformation and so much more.

Let’s start off with one of our favorite pieces of holiday happiness: A commercial that reimagines Alice in Wonderland debuted Nov. 2 and embraces everything that makes Target, Target — including all things red and white and Bullseye. You’ll be drawn into Alice’s magical “Marshmallow World,” chock full of candy, toys and of course, marshmallows!

Recognize the song? Target has modernized the classic holiday tune, “Marshmallow World” through an exciting collaboration with Karen O – lead singer of the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s. Keep your eye out for 15 different TV spots throughout the season and know that there will be plenty of holiday fun in each one.

If you’re like us, then your phone or tablet is hardly ever out of reach. This year, Target is introducing more innovative digital marketing efforts than ever before. Target’s new Wish List app helps kids create holiday wish lists in a fun and modern way. The app, built like a registry, also allows parents to see, manage and share their kids’ wish lists with friends and family. Available now, guests can access and download Target’s Wish List app on Apple and Android mobile and tablet devices. Guests can also save 10% off their Wish List on one day of their choosing by November 26.

Target’s Cartwheel savings app is also getting into the holiday spirit. From Nov. 2 to Dec. 24, Cartwheel will offer 50% off on a different toy every day.

Target is also bringing the magic home for the holidays with two beautiful catalogs: a 60-page Kids Catalog and 16-page Holiday Catalog. Get your magic marker ready to start circling the products you love (there are a lot of them)! The Kids’ Catalog showcases this season’s hottest gifts and coolest exclusives across toys, electronics and more. And for moms and families looking at the Holiday Catalog, flip through the beautifully curated collection of apparel, accessories, home goods and beauty products. So…what’s on your wish list?

And finally, who better to turn Target stores into a winter shopping wonderland than renowned event designer David Stark? Applying his brilliant use of color, texture and overall playfulness, David will whimsically transform Target stores into a snow-covered, tree-lined North Pole experience.
