Graduation caps have already been tossed in the air, and high school grads are getting ready to enjoy one last summer ahead of their first year of college.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, though. First, families and friends have to shop for grad gifts — Americans will spend a whopping $4.7 billion on them this year alone, according to the National Retail Federation — and now there’s an easy tool to select stuff students actually need.
Before future freshmen sign up for campus events or clubs, they can prep for campus life by signing up for Target’s first college registry program. Once reserved for the soon-to-be-married and soon-to-be-parents, college-bound students can now use Target’s college registry to score everything from futons and flip flops to extra-long twin sheets and stylish storage solutions.
Launching in early June, students and their families can create, manage and share a registry at Target.com for all the campus necessities. So smart. So collegiate!
The college registry complements another digital tool that Target is using to innovate the back-to-college scene — Target Subscriptions Service, which lets you order everyday essentials from Target.com on a recurring schedule and have them delivered to your doorstep.
A modern day twist on the classic college “care package,” Target Subscriptions help doting moms and dads deliver college life necessities (toothpaste, detergent, water filters…Tylenol) to students on a regular basis.
Um, where was this when we were in college!?
