new ‘Heartwork’ to benefit St. Jude Target House

When spirits are low, a beautiful piece of art can lift them up—especially when the designs come straight from the heart.

For the fourth year in a row, Target’s Creative team partnered with a new group of talented artists to create a series of limited-edition 11-by-14-inch prints, sold at while supplies last. Proceeds go to buy new art supplies to stock the Scott Hamilton Art Room for the kids at St. Jude Target House, a free home away from home for patients and their families to stay while receiving live-saving treatment at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. 

The 2014 Heartwork series launched this week with 10 new print designs, all inspired by the theme of “hope.” Artists include Gail Anderson and Joe Newton, Tegan White, Chris Turnham, Brian Flynn, Tom Whalen, Jared Chapman, Brittney Lee, Ty Mattson, Brent Couchman and Mary Kate McDevitt. Each piece created for the series (100 in total) is printed by design company Invisible Creature, then signed and numbered by the artists before shipping out to purchasers. A set of the prints also hang at the hospital and at St. Jude Target House.

“Heartwork is such a great way to bring a smile to so many amazing kids at St. Jude Target House,” says Ted Halbur, associate creative director, Target Creative. “I am so very appreciative of all the amazing artists who volunteer their time, and of everyone who supports Heartwork.”

The Heartwork series is just one of the many ways we’re celebrating the 15th anniversary of St. Jude Target House this year.
