In a time of transformation for retailers like Target, the Bullseye is eager to test new services and offerings both online and in stores.
Just this morning, Target announced it will begin testing same-day delivery service. Shoppers in select parts of Boston, Miami and Minneapolis will be the first to get to try out the “Rush Delivery” test on Target.com next month.
In those markets, some guests will be able to choose the $10 service and get same-day delivery on orders placed before 1:30 p.m. The test comes on the heels of successful launches of in-store pickup and online subscriptions — which Target recently expanded after launching last fall.
“This is all about delivering products and services more flexibly — and serving guests on their terms by providing more options,” said Jason Goldberger, senior vice president of Target.com and Mobile.
“With these new services and tests like Rush Delivery, we’re gauging guest appetite and building internal capabilities and technologies that will make Target a leading omnichannel retailer.”
Currently, the company is focusing on testing the same-day service and learning from the pilot — undoubtedly, there will be kinks. It’s all part of the company’s work to constantly improve and enhance the shopping experience.
As interim CEO John Mulligan recently said, “Guests will receive the products they want, when they want them, how they want them. Flexibility is the Target of the future.”
