Love sampling the latest beauty products? Love a great deal? Love surprises? Apparently lots of guests do, which is why Target’s recent test called Beauty Box proved to be such a hit, selling out its initial plan in just days.
Target created Beauty Box, a service that delivers five premium beauty product samples right to guests’ homes, and offered it for $5, including tax and shipping, through Target Style’s Facebook page. Beauty Box arrives at guests’ doorstops within 2-4 weeks and is filled with an array of products for hair, nails, skin or body in a stylish, reusable box.
“Beauty Box is Target’s spin on a service that we’re excited to test with our guests,” says Dan Dutton, Target buyer, Accelerate Innovation. “We think it’ll be a great way to reinforce Target as a top beauty destination.”
Certain beauty brands in the box, including L’Oreal, will already be household names, while others, like premium skincare line La Roche-Posay, will be less well-known.
“There has been a lot of excitement surrounding the release of Target’s Beauty Box, so we’re looking forward to offering guests the first installment and then seeing where in the future of subscription boxes it takes us,” says Dan. Now that the initial offer is sold, Target will review user feedback and determine a potential full-program launch.
