Minneapolis team members seeking one-on-one tech support have a solution in our downtown headquarters. The spot, dubbed Hi Tech, is similar in concept to the Apple Genius Bar. It’s the place to go for team members having problems or questions about their Target-issued phones, computers or apps, as well as Target-related issues with their personal mobile devices.

This free resource provides team members with quick tech solutions from a Target team of nine experts. “It’s a relaxed, fun environment,” says Hi Tech team member Amy Thomas. Team members can make appointments online or via iPads stationed outside of Hi Tech, and walk-up hours are also available.

Many team members are also utilizing social media to ask questions and receive help from Hi Tech. An online forum hosted on Target’s intranet allows the experts to quickly reply to team members who post tech-related questions.

“Target team members rely heavily on technology and require a higher level of support than ever before,” says Target Technology Services Operations Manager Rick Walstrom. “Hi Tech is one way Target is addressing team members’ needs and providing tech solutions in a friendly, easy to access way.”

In the first week alone, Hi Tech provided 263 team members with technical support and is averaging 50 appointments a day. Classes and seminars are planned, providing team members with an added level of tech support and information.
