Executive Team Leader Chris Fitzmaurice of Target’s store in Olathe, Kan., is one of the approximately 4,400 pharmacists and 15,000 supporting health care team members who work in our pharmacieslink opens in a new window across the country every day, offering guests high-quality service featuring some of the industry’s top prescription programs and trusted medical advice.
Chris shares the perks of being a team member and why bringing guests an affordable, easy and enjoyable shopping experience just comes naturally.
The service we give is personal.
“Being part of a guest’s healthcare team is rewarding, as I’m helping them save money and better understand their medications. I love answering guests’ healthcare questions, and I enjoy talking to guests and team members about their unique needs, such as how to choose the right vitamins and supplements.
“We’re a trusted information source, which is key when you get guests bringing in info they’ve found on the Internet. We help them sort out the myths from the facts. Safety and privacy are top priorities for us.”
We like to surprise guests with innovative products and services.
“Target is really in tune with what guests want. For instance, I get tons of positive guest comments on ClearRxlink opens in a new window. It’s very cool to work at the company that made the first improvement to prescription bottles in 100 years.
“We also know guests well enough to know they consider their pets part of the family, so we introduced the Pet Rxlink opens in a new window program to fill pet prescriptions using our $4 and $10 generics.”
Everything is a good value.
“Guests know they get great value here. Everyone I tell about the Pharmacy Rewards programlink opens in a new window thinks it’s a no-brainer. Guests get 5 percent off a day of Target shopping after filling five eligible prescriptions.”
Teamwork is key.
“The best part of my job? The Pharmacy and store team at my store is incredible. We lean on each other, especially during cold and flu season when we’re insanely busy.
We also have tons of opportunities to volunteer as a team. I love to read and think it’s really cool that we have this library volunteer day coming up. It’s always fun for our Pharmacy team to get together with the rest of our store team to do something for the community.”
Chris’ job, like many others at Target, offers the opportunity to use advanced technology on the job, grow within a talented team and make the shopping experience even better for guests. Want to learn more? Explore career opportunities at Target.
