In 2010, Taylor Swift’s album “Speak Now” set records by selling more than 1 million copies in its first week and Target was the No. 1 destination for the album. Now the singer and songwriting superstar sets out to paint the world “Red” with a deluxe edition of her latest album, exclusively at Target.
“Target and Taylor’s past collaborations have been undeniably successful, and we are thrilled to begin another chapter in our partnership,” says John Butcher, vice president of Entertainment, Target “Taylor writes honest, emotional songs based on her personal experiences. Her music is original and inspirational, and our partnership will offer even more of Taylor’s popular music to her fans.”
The deluxe edition “Red,” which includes six bonus tracks (three new songs and three remixes), will be at Target stores and Target.com Oct. 22. “One of the toughest things about putting together an album is having to make the final song choices,” says Swift. “I love that putting out a deluxe edition at Target lets me give the fans even more music.”
Swift describes “Red” as being written about “emotions spanning from intense love, intense frustration, intense jealousy, and confusion,” adding, “All of that in my mind, all those emotions, are red. There's nothing in between, there's nothing beige about those feelings.”
