We’ve already confessed our love for Eddy Chai and Paul Birardi, and their sophisticated-cool menswear shop, Odin New York. Can you blame us for loving the refined fits and rugged aesthetic of their exquisitely curated collection?
Luckily for you, the dynamic duo will be debuting an exclusive, limited-time collection as part of the second installment of The Shops at Target. Guys can grab their line of sweaters, henleys, button-downs, pants, shoes and accessories galore at Target stores and online at Target.com starting September 9.
To hold you over until launch day, Paul and Eddy reveal more clues about their collection in the video and interview, below.
What led you to open Odin New York?
Paul & Eddy: We wanted to create a multi-brand lifestyle store for men that had a curated range of offerings.
What does your day-to-day look like in your shop?
P&E: Ha! There isn’t an average day for an independent business owner. It’s really about assessing every morning and categorizing your priorities and making sure they get done. You have to be many things at any given time.
Do you have a favorite memory from when you first opened?
P: It’s all kind of a blur since I think we worked 48 hours straight to get it opened.
E: Making our first sale.
Describe your shop in a few words.
P&E: Masculine, alluring and comfortable—a synergy of classic and modern.
What are you most excited about for your Target collection?
P&E: We are most excited about seeing the collection in its totality and merchandised at Target–it’s the finale to all the work everyone involved has put forth. The detail and quality is amazing for such incredible prices. And the chance to have an incredible team build and support a collection for a small business is a rare opportunity. Target allows national exposure that very few brands will ever have the chance to experience, and we are thankful for that opportunity.
How did it feel when you saw your Target collection for the first time?
P&E: We were amazed at how the collection reflects the Odin sensibility and the execution of the collection.
How can Target guests elevate their style with your collection?
P: I think our collection is a great foundation for any man’s wardrobe. It’s all about the details of our collection that make each item unique.
E: There are pieces that can enhance an already solid closet with versatile pieces that can be easily layered in.
What were a few “main ingredients” you wanted to include in your collection?
P: When we buy for our store, we search for the subtle details that make an item unique. I think when you look at the Odin for Target collection you will see those details in various forms, zippers, buttons, piping on the inseams and other details.
E: Overall, we wanted to create a line that resonates with a large audience, yet carefully curate the pieces so they still have something special.
