We’ve always loved designer sketches. It’s incredible to see a vision expressed on paper compared to the final product and how it evolved along the way (just look at this Jason Wu sketch of a dress from his recent Target collection).
Below, the Target product design & development team shares sketches of décor accents in the spring and summer home collection. Inspired by natural elements, a spa-like atmosphere and water, they created an at-home exotic retreat. Ready to take a trip?
Layers of cool colors and texture help create depth on vases, vessels and lamps, while oversized botanical prints are mixed with geos and ikats on pillows and textiles. You can see the exotic trend trickle throughout the collection on key materials like art glass, glazed ceramics, powder-coated metals and bamboo.
