While we count down the days for Jason Wu for Target (only 10 more!), designer Jason Wu and DJ Harley Viera-Newton are counting down the hours until tonight’s private launch event in New York City.
The stylish pair will be celebrating the upcoming collection alongside famous faces, friends and French dance-pop group, Yelle, who will rock out at the intimate soiree in SoHo.
We’re sure to spot celebs walking down the red carpet in Jason’s designs – Harley included.
The downtown darling will spin tonight’s event and, like any girl, wanted to have the perfect outfit. So, Jason helped Harley get ready at the Target Studio. Polka-dotted prints and delicate designs popped against the all-white loft as Jason and Harley raided a rack of outfit options.
We were on set to snap photos of the styling session and sneak in a few questions with the designer and DJ. Check it out below!

Jason, why did you select this dress for Harley?
Jason Wu: The dress picked the owner! It had Harley’s name all over it, and is everything I think about her – it’s fun, chic and feminine.
We can’t wait for the collection! Do you have a favorite piece from the line?
JW: It’s hard to pick, but I’d say the black trench with the lace.
Harley, do you love the look Jason picked for you?
Harley Viera-Newton: I do! I love the color and the peter-pan collar – it’s very my style. [Laughs] I’ll wear heels to make it a little shorter.
What do you typically wear while DJ-ing?
HVN: I like to be super comfortable, so I have a go-to uniform – a little vintage dress, tights and boots.
How would you describe your style?
HVN: Eclectic. I like to wear a lot of vintage, but mix in designer every now and then. My style is all over the place. My mother has been a huge inspiration to me. She’s super stylish, so I always try to emulate her in some way.
Do you have any favorite New York vintage stores?
HVN: Screaming Mimi’s and No.6, which is a tiny store on Centre Market Place. It’s hard to find but once you find it, it’s really great.
Jason, how will you prep for tonight’s event?
JW: I’ll work right until the last minute, and probably get ready in five minutes. It’s all about being a good host. I think it will be a lot of fun – I’m excited!
Tonight is sure to be memorable. Do you have a favorite fashion memory?
JW: When my mother gave me my first sewing machine when I was ten.
Harley, you’re spinning tonight. What is your ultimate pump-up song?
HVN: “Close to Me” by The Cure always works, and Frankie Valli “Oh, What a Night.”
