Step inside Target’s inner sanctum of safety and follow Brad Brekke – Vice President of Corporate Assets Protection – as he shows where Target teams will be watching the Black Friday action and helping to make sure it’s a super fun shopping experience.
Target’s Corporate Command Center runs 24/7, monitoring events that could impact Target team members, the business and guests. The Command Center serves as a hub and provides up-to-date information on weather conditions, natural disasters and major news world-wide, among other critical business needs. The team watches over Target stores via more than 75,000 digital cameras.
With a mind toward prevention, Target has taken these extra steps to help make Black Friday a smooth shopping experience:
- Highly visible security coverage in parking lots prior to store opening
- Crowd management leaders talking with guests, sharing information, handing out store maps, and setting expectations for an orderly entry into the store
- Store-specific maps to direct guests to hot items – these maps will be available on Target.com, Target’s mobile app (available the day before Thanksgiving) and will be handed to guests in line before doors open on Black Friday
- This year, Target is using a process called metering, where guests will enter the store in groups
May you find that great deal you seek, finish all your holiday shopping early and have a fun time while you do it!
