lots to love in LA

Target is all about bringing convenience, value and great design closer to home. And since we go where our guests go, we’re customizing each new LA-area store to create a locally relevant experience with assortments and shopping solutions that best fit the surrounding neighborhood’s needs.

We support the community, too. Los Angeles Unified School District, L.A. Works, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, United Way of Greater Los Angeles, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and the Los Angeles Police Foundation are among the organizations we partner with.

In 2015 alone, we logged more than 62,000 hours in volunteer projects with area non-profits, donated almost 3.5 million pounds of food through food bank partners and provided 320 field trip grants to LA-area schools.

thinking local

Bringing guests local craft beer favorites

Target's always working to find creative solutions for bringing our guests the products and experiences they want. For a regional example, look no further than Kari Kiper, store team leader in Tustin, Calif. Kari knew craft beer was a big deal in her community, so she started a project to bring guests' favorite local brands to her store. Kari's team even asked guests for tips on which beers they wanted most, to make sure they got the assortment just right.

The Burbank, Los Angeles, CA, store

New Burbank West Store Caters to Neighborhood Residents

Our new small-format store in the Magnolia Park area of Burbank, located at 1033 N. Hollywood Way, is among the more than 100 stores opened in the greater Los Angeles area since 1983, including 10 other small-format stores.

It offers a distinct experience tailored for the neighborhood, offering essentials, toys, a wide range of baby and kids products, groceries, sporting goods and more, as well as a CVS Pharmacy, Target Mobile and Order Pickup.

And the way we built this store is good for communities and the environment. We upgraded an existing office space with a new roof, insulation, glazing and our latest environmentally friendly features like energy efficient light fixtures. We also kept elements of the building that nod to its history, like the wood ceilings, concrete floors and some steel details. Overall, by opening our new store in a preserved building, we were able to cut down on waste, conserve land and reduce energy consumption.

Target is proud to give back to the communities we serve. That's why we presented grants to organizations such as the Burbank Temporary Aid Center, Inc. and the Family Service Agency of Burbank. Additionally, we support nearly 20,000 jobs across greater Los Angeles, including approximately 85 new jobs at the Magnolia Park store.
